Non profit web development: Pretoria website design company
I was recently approached about Non Profit web development for Houce Gracia, a charity focusing on child and youth care.
The charity was started when Trudie saw some kids hanging out in a park on her way home from work. She stopped and asked them why they were not going home. They told her they lived in the Park, she took them home, fed them, got them cleaned up, That was in 2009, since then 100's of children have been fed and housed by Gracia.
Currently 87 children are being looked after by Trudie, Lizette and the team.
Requirements for Non Profit web development: House Gracia, Pretoria
Like any business website, Non Profit web development
starts with identifying the goals and needs of the organisation. The website design for Pretoria based Non profit Gracia Child and Youth Care Centre takes into account that the website needs to serve two major functions. The functions are allowing the Non profit to communicate with and supply information to the world at large and a fund raising opportunity.
The current web site at the time of the consultation was incapable of either task. The need was obvious. At Imagimedia we immediately started by creating a specification for the non profit web development. The focus was to create a website designed with getting Google results and making House Gracia's internet presence felt.
Non profit web development, planning the website components
The Home page would be a repository for all the most important information anyone would need to know to understand the goals, history and future of House Gracia.
A document archive area would be needed to serve the most important documents like the annual returns, NPO certificate and other documentation most often sent to prospective donors. Making them all available on the website would allow the team to spend less time sending out documents and focusing on the important work of the day.
An easy method to allow online donations and subscriptions to take place.
Subscriptions to the monthly newsletter, and a method of sending them to the subscribers.
We decided on a blog format for the latest news and stories that need to be told, This will also be used to create articles designed to create Google results for the most commonly used keywords and phrases people would use to search for charities to support, whether by volunteering or donation. This would be linked to on the side bar navigation with an archive under the Stories tab.
An events tab would allow publishing of fund raising events and other events the Non Profits beneficiaries would attend.
The next section would be the projects tab, allowing us to market specific things that needed fund raising for like the leaking roof that needs fixing and painting or a second washing machine as the existing one is doing double time, washing for 87 children is no small task.
The wishes tab would be to allow people to help the kids gain birthday and Christmas gifts to delight them,
And finally full contact details available with map directions and email form.
Non profit web development, getting results
Having a web site is not enough, 91% of websites get no search engine results, Our goal is to make this web site a tool for fund raising and getting people to the site to raise those funds. Here at Imagimedia we become part of the team when we do non profit web development, so SEO is a service we offer to make sure that we are getting the results needed.
We do non profit web development for clients anywhere. Web design is not just about the look and feel, It is also about getting results and making an easy to navigate UI. The objective is to make it easy for the user to find any and all information needed.
